I am...  James

James is a managing partner at Seventy Seven.

He was one of the team that started the agency in 2004 and has been with the Fishburn Hedges Group since 1998.

He works on campaigns for Nintendo Europe, Hotels.com, The Balvenie (the world’s finest premium single malt whisky), regional retailers SPAR, Wolff Olins and Jersey Tourism.

He has recently worked on the “Regional Voice in Wine” campaign for SPAR, giving wine a local spin by “translating” the brand’s tasting notes into regional dialects for a campaign that went on to appear on the Jonathan Ross Show, amongst many others. He also conceived Nintendo’s “Aardman Flips Out” campaign, creating twelve short films using Nintendo DSi software that went on to clock up 2.5 million views and were downloaded over 65,000 times by users.

In the past, James has worked on brands that include online and consumer technology (BT Broadband, LYCOS, Hotels.com, eSure, PayPal and eBay.co.uk), food and drink (Gallo Family Vineyards, McWilliam’s, Vina Chilcaya, Kinder Kids) financial services (Goldfish, Barclays, Capital One, Liverpool Victoria) and public sector (Sing Up, FRANK, TfL, CITB ConstructionSkills).

James has an unhealthy obsession with the communications industry and writes agency weblog, Spinning Around, which he describes as his “thinking out loud”.  He has a passion for Japanese vinyl toys and exhibition posters, with a collection that numbers over 200.  Both of these things infuriate his wife.
