Epitomising Californian cool and a laid-back approach to life, Barefoot wines are all about kicking back and having fun.  So it’s little wonder that Barefoot is increasingly featuring on our coastline, whether it’s at surf events, Pride festivities or beach barbecues … Our summer campaign for the brand saw Barefoot kick up a right old fuss on British beaches.

In partnership with eco-campaigners Surfers Against Sewage, Barefoot embarked on its second “Making Beaches Barefoot Friendly” beach clean-up tour to highlight the importance of picking up after ourselves. Details of the tour appeared in over 30 online and regional titles and were featured on BBC South East Today, ITV Meridian TV - helping to generate 600 supporters over the week-long tour in which two tonnes of rubbish were collected.

Barefoot also continued its support of volleyball and a slightly lesser-known sport of footvolley this summer. Originating on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, footvolley combines the summer appeal of beach volleyball with acrobatic football moves and over-head kicks. It’s similar to volleyball – but players must not use their arms or hands. To raise awareness of the sport and its link with Barefoot, we secured an exclusive with Metro which saw a trailer of the Barefoot Open UK Footvolley Championship in Brighton and a double page spread about the burgeoning sport.
