PARK(ing) Day, an annual, global event where metered parking spaces are reclaimed for the public’s enjoyment and transformed into temporary parks, officially came to the UK for the first time on Friday 18 September.

Brought to Britain by eco-car insurance provider, ibuyeco and US art collective Rebar, PARK(ing) Day UK saw a parking bay in Borough’s Park Street transformed into a beautiful miniature park for one day.

Held in celebration of the “little things in life that make a big difference” the aim of the game was to raise awareness of the ibuyeco brand and create a fun, interactive event that reached our beyond the personal finance pages.

Coverage highlights include rolling coverage on BBC London News throughout the day itself, video coverage on The Independent Online and some key blogger endorsement including super influential eco blog, Treehugger.com. Reach to date stands at over 21 million OTS.
