A traveller’s holiday experience starts the moment that they turn to their partner and suggest it might be time for a break and goes all the way through to their putting the piccies on Facebook when they’re home.

This insight means that the Hotels.com team now focuses on the breadth of the holiday experience as part of its media relations campaigns.  As part of that push, we looked at the best cabs in the world – which, we found – is the favourite mode of transport from airport to hotel.

Questioning over 3,000 travellers from across Europe, we established that London’s cabbies are the world’s favourite.

That single finding led to over 100 pieces of coverage in the UK alone – which was supported by comment and spokespeople from the London Taxi Driver’s Association and a guide to taxis around the world that we placed on the Hotels.com website.

Across Europe, the research was rolled out and delivered a further 300 pieces – all of which contributed to the business’ growing reputation as the leading travel website across the continent.
